Pictures Shot After The Shahi Snan 15 Feb 2013

Being a street photographer I was more comfortable shooting the Naga Babas close to where I stayed Sector 5 .

I did not visit the other sectors simply because there was no regulation of fare by the cycle ricksha guys , they fleeced the passengers and the Mela athorities did not have their own means of transport for tourists visitors .

The Uttar Pradesh cops were totally insensitive , beating photographers and totally harsh to the visiting foreign media.. no disaster management and overall the entire scenario was athetic display of our event management skills,.

The Indian Railways management was zero to say the least making people walk miles to reach the main station open at one end only..

Somehow I think we failed miserably , accommodation was expensive the poor slept on the roads till the rains unleashed their fury,,, the rich were the happiest and those devotees connected too top akhadas .. thanks to the akhadas there was some semblance of order and sanity.

I have two more cards to go and the bulk of my pictures documenting naked naga baba life can only be viewed by Flickr member .. I have moderated my sets following Flickr guidelines for frontal nudity , and restricted the same from public view.

I also shot a Hijra taking bath at the banks of the Ganga .. this can be seen by those who are listed as my friends at Flickr.

I could have shot a lot more on Basant Panchami day, but I let it go preferring to be within close proximity of my Naga Guru...I had a satisfyng Kumbh I took the Holy Dip i shot pictures .. I returned home safely.

I shot the Haji Malang Urus Palki and the Arti at the Durga mandir by Shiv Sainks led by Mr Eknath Shinde ..at Malangad.. but due to bad cold asthma I returned back home leaving my Malang brother Marc de Clercq,,there were not many hijras this year on the mountain top...
and I was not too interested shooting the few there.

I shall miss Sultan Shah sandal..
